The Firm
Clay Capital Group LLC is an independent capital introduction firm. We open the door between qualified construction-stage sponsors and the institutional construction lenders, vetted trade partners, and operating context that allow real projects to advance for institutional review.
The firm focuses on three U.S. construction-finance corridors — Twin Cities, Atlanta, and Dallas–Fort Worth — where the firm’s principal has built relationships across construction lenders, sponsors, and subcontractors over more than a decade of operating work.
We are a Minnesota limited liability company. We are not a registered broker-dealer or investment adviser. The work is narrow on purpose: introductions only. Builders, borrowers, and sponsors are not charged for introductions, and any compensation arrangement, when applicable, is documented in writing with the appropriate counterparty in advance.

Principles
How the firm holds itself.
Introductions, not deals.
Counterparties communicate and negotiate directly. The firm does not hold capital, take custody, draft documents, or sit between the parties. The relationship is the product. Builders are not charged for introductions; any compensation arrangement, when applicable, is documented in writing in advance with the appropriate counterparty.
Selective by design.
A small number of active engagements at any time. The work scales by reputation, not volume. If a project is not the right fit, we say so quickly.
Principal-attended.
Every introduction is reviewed and routed by the firm's managing principal directly. No mass submission to a list of lenders. The relationship that opens the door is the same one that follows the engagement.
Leadership
Founder-led, single principal — by design.
Craig Clay built Clay Capital Group around a simple gap: many capable builders and sponsors know how to execute the work, but lack clean access to aligned capital relationships and qualified trade partners. The firm exists to make those introductions more precise, disciplined, and relationship-based — not to mass-submit deals or sit between counterparties.
The firm operates with a single managing principal. Engagements are taken on selectively so each introduction is reviewed and routed personally. Clay Capital Group is structured to add additional principals as the firm grows.
